How is a Breast Reduction Performed?

The incisions that will be made during the procedure will vary depending on the current size of the breasts and the patient’s treatment goals. Most breast reduction procedures are performed with incisions around the areola of the nipples that extend downwards. Once the incisions are made, excess skin, fat, and tissue is removed to reshape and resize the breasts. At this stage, we will also be able to correct nipple size and position, relocating it to the center of the breasts. After the desired results are achieved, the incisions are closed and the treatment will be complete.
What is the Recovery Like After a Breast Reduction?

During the first week or two, patients may have to take time off of work and reduce their level of activity to ensure that the body can heal properly.
