Hyperpigmentation Treatment

If you have developed darkened spots of skin due to hyperpigmentation, you may want to consider hyperpigmentation treatment at Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates. We are proud to offer this and other medical dermatology services to residents of Fairfax, Washington DC, Arlington, Annandale, VA, and neighboring areas.

What is Hyperpigmentation Treatment?

Hyperpigmentation is the darkening of skin that is typically caused by excessive sun exposure. It occurs when the sun damages pigment-producing cells, resulting in an excess of pigment in the skin. Hyperpigmentation can develop anywhere on the body, although it develops more commonly in areas that are frequently exposed to the sun. Although hyperpigmentation is not dangerous, many patients seek treatment in order to restore a clear and consistent skin tone. At Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates, we offer comprehensive hyperpigmentation treatment that includes many effective treatment techniques.

How Much Does Hyperpigmentation Treatment Cost?

The cost of your hyperpigmentation treatment at Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates can vary, and may be covered by health insurance. If this is the case, we will determine your coverage during your consultation in order to provide you with the exact cost of your treatment. In an effort to keep our treatments accessible, we are proud to accept CareCredit® financing in addition to traditional payment methods.

What is Involved in Hyperpigmentation Treatment?

At Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates, our hyperpigmentation treatment is a medical-grade skin care regimen that targets darkened or damaged skin cells and exfoliates them to reveal healthy, radiant skin underneath. This program involves prescription-strength skin care products, the VI® Peel chemical peel, microdermabrasion, and laser skin resurfacing with the Alexandrite laser.

When Will I Notice Results from My Hyperpigmentation Treatment?

Many patients will notice immediate improvements after their hyperpigmentation treatment. As the skin heals from treatments like laser skin resurfacing, patients may notice a gradual improvement in their results. In some cases, multiple treatment sessions will be necessary to achieve optimal results.

Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates welcomes patients from Fairfax, Washington DC, Arlington, Annandale, and the nearby cities of the DMV. To learn more about hyperpigmentation treatment or to schedule a consultation, contact us today.
