PRP for Hair

Selphyl PRP is the next generation PRP system that contains calcium chloride that produces platelet rich fibrin matrix. This results in sustained release of growth factors. The Fibrin matrix localizes the growth factors and increases their concentration. Studies have shown that platelet growth factors are released for up to seven days, supporting collagen production and increased vascularization, which results in overall improvement of skin tone and texture. During the visit, a small amount of blood is drawn from patient and placed in a tube. The tube is placed into a centrifuge and spun for 6 minutes. The red and white blood cells are separated from the platelets and plasma. The platelets and plasma are transferred to another vaccuum tube that contains calcium chloride solution. Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix is formed and injected into the patient. This treatment is used for hair restoration and thinning hair. Three treatments once every 6-8 weeks are recommended for male and female pattern androgenetic alopecia. PRP Fibrin Matrix is also used with or without microneedling for facial rejuvenation to improve skin tone and texture and improve appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
