A rhinoplasty can help patients enhance the shape of their nose to better complement the rest of their facial features. At Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates, we are proud to offer rhinoplasty and other facial surgeries to men and women living in Fairfax, Washington DC, Arlington and Annandale, VA and surrounding neighborhoods.
What is a Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, also referred to as a nose job, is a facial surgery that focuses on altering the shape or size of the nose. Rhinoplasty is commonly used to enhance the shape of the bridge, nostrils, or tip of the nose. Many patients choose to have rhinoplasty if they feel their nose is too large or asymmetrical. The rhinoplasty procedure can improve the appearance of the nose to enhance facial balance and produce better facial symmetry. Rhinoplasty techniques can also be used for reconstructive surgery, such as repairing the nose after injury or correcting any nose-related breathing difficulties.
How Much Does a Rhinoplasty Cost?
The cost of your rhinoplasty procedure at Plastic Surgery and Dermatology Associates will depend on a number of factors. During your initial consultation, we will review your treatment goals in order to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your personal needs. Once this treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of your procedure. In an effort to keep our treatments accessible, we are proud to accept CareCredit® financing in addition to traditional payment methods.
How is a Rhinoplasty Performed?
Rhinoplasty is performed using anesthesia to ensure optimal patient safety and comfort. During the procedure, incisions may be made either inside the nose or along the columella, which is the piece of tissue that separates the nostrils. Through these incisions, we will manipulate or remove cartilage in order to produce the desired nasal shape and size. Once the desired results are achieved, the incisions are closed and the treatment will be complete.
What is the Recovery Like After a Rhinoplasty?
After a rhinoplasty, patients can expect mild swelling that can persist for as long as six months after surgery. However, this swelling is often subtle after the initial recovery period. Most patients are fully recovered about three weeks after their procedure. During this time, patients may have to take time off of work and other activities to ensure proper healing. During your consultation, Dr. Mirali will provide you with specific recovery instructions based on your personal treatment plan.
Are the Results from My Rhinoplasty Permanent?
The results from your rhinoplasty will be permanent, but it is important to remember that normal effects of aging can still occur. The nose is one of the few parts of the body that never stops growing, meaning that patients may notice subtle, gradual changes in the nose after several years.
